We are launching a car sharing app aimed at students in the UK called ‘FareShout’.
We have called it that for two reasons:
1. It does what it says on the tin. A really easy to use app made by students for students who have space in their car for a trip they are making and want to spread the cost of getting there, and of course, students who want a lift to another town that’s cheaper and easier than using public transport.
2. We think the cost of trains are heinously expensive and stop students, in particular, from getting around, going to festivals, seeing friends and family or simply taking in cultural events around the UK. The name allows us to get on our soapbox whenever fares rise, and tell students there is now another way.
What’s good about our App?
Its been developed as an App, rather than as a website that has been poorly converted into anApp. So, its much easier to use - a few swipes gets you to where you need to be. No clunky buttons.
Its got a real-time function thats linked to Facebook so you can see whether anyone in your Uni town is looking for or going on a trip via the App.
